Remember the power of the American idea

I STILL HAVEN'T DECIDED who I'm supporting in the Democratic primary race, but fuck, man, have you seen this?

Even if Obama can't seize victory from the Clinton machine (a machine I personally believe is built around a capable, impressive, and good-hearted candidate), the message here is exceptionally powerful.

Yes We Can

"There has never been anything false about hope."

As I'm sure you know, neither BHO or HRC have been making strong stances for gay rights. Basically, I think both are for civil unions and not redefining marriage.

However, if it shows what may be behind the curtain that will fall once he gets to stop politicking, he did stand up in front of a Southern Baptist congregation, at MLK Jr.'s old pulpit and chided them for 'scorning our gay brothers and sisters instead of embracing them.' It's more than I've seen HRC do.

Of course, more issues must be considered to give support, but I figured that might be a big one for you and it basically got overlooked.

I think the video you posted will be a historical landmark moment studied in campaigning for some time. It's the YouTube generation stepping forward and harnessing the internet. It's got at least 1 million views in four days!

Wizzle-

I've continued to read and enjoy your blog since your DC departure and thought it only fair to finally leave a comment. On the issue of "HRC v. BHO" I stand on the side of unprincipled caution and marked my CT-absentee ballot in favor of Hillary. My cynical-jew compass points directly to McCain if Obama get the nomination. I suppose it's too little too late. Anyway, I hope the gangs of New York are treating you well. Space
